I returned from the Civitan International Convention in Jacksonville, Florida and it was an honor to be your elected governor. In your Governor-Elect Stephaniepresented separate workshops during the conference and along with our otherWalk’nRoll team co-captain Erma lead in team fundraising for the CIRC.
NCDE Civitans had the most registered delegates (in person and virtual combined)of any Civitan district. There is a convention snapshot provided in this newsletter with the results of the elections and proposed governance documents votes. As important as those discussions were, the work of Civitan and the individual member efforts combined in clubs, districts, and nations is extremely impactful.
The Civitan International Research Center report continued to provide us with why support these efforts not only in the research but the clinical application of that research in our lives.
I trust that many of you have enjoyed getting out over the summer months, seeing old friends and family and having the opportunity to continue your good works in your community! As we emerge into our new normal let’s take advantage of that as we continue to seek out others to help us in our efforts.
I am hearing from many of you that already have new members, some at the rate of 5 at a time!! How did they accomplish that? They invited them to a meeting or project! Especially now with the membership incentives underway, reach out to a friend or neighbor and invite them! I look forward to visiting with you in person, virtually or a good old-fashioned phone call these next two months to find out about all of the marvelous things you and your clubs are accomplishing! Thank you for being champions of Service Leaders!
