North Raleigh Civitans Feeding the Hungry

The North Raleigh Civitan Club has been helping put food on the table for many of families who were already hurting and in need before the pandemic. The club has funded 3,750 meals through the Food Bank of North Carolina and is currently raising money to benefit the food pantry at The Alliance of AIDS Services Carolina. “Civitans Feeding the Hungry in Central North Carolina” continues through Aug 15th through Go Fund Me page  and thus far will provide more than 14,000 meals. Thank-you Lynn Abler for chairing this wonderful project!

The Alliance of AIDS Services-Carolina has operated its food pantry for over a decade, providing pantry services to anyone affected by HIV and/or of low income. The Alliance provides food to feed an average of 170 households per month in Wake, Durham, Johnston, Franklin, and Orange Counties. Due to the ever-growing need for pantry services, The Alliance completed a large renovation in 2016 and is now set up to resemble a grocery store with shopping carts and a variety of choices including dry goods, bread, milk, eggs, meats, and personal hygiene products.
