Capital City Club, Pre-Pandemic Activities and Beyond

Before the global pandemic hit, the Capital City Club was able to host Happy Time Bowling in January and February and Bingo at the Covington Assisted Living Facility. Nine members also worked at the Food Bank in January. Club members volunteered at two Sensory Friendly Performances at Raleigh Little Theater in February: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, their first adult themed SFP and Seussical.

As projects cancelled in the era of social distancing, the club voted to reallocate funds to better serve the needs of the community. This was accomplished via their first club virtual meeting held via an audio conference call during the normal meeting time on April 2. Club members also participated in some of the numerous Zoom calls that International has recently hosted.

On a sad note, our Club lost some long time, much loved and respected members. Lindsay Hoch passed on January 16, 2020. Julia Sharp passed on February 9. 2020. She was preceded by her husband, L.W., another long time member, who passed in December.
