South Raleigh recently recognized their newest member, Amanda Grace Keller, as a Hometown Hero Achiever and a true Champion. In the past, she has spearheaded the Club’s annual Santa for Seniors program at the Murphey School Apartments in downtown Raleigh. Most of the residents there are in the high-risk category for contracting the potentially dangerous virus and are either not able to get to a grocery store or not willing to face the risks involved. So, Amanda has been busy delivering much needed groceries and other essential items to the residents.
About twenty-five members and guests gathered at Ragazzi’s Restaurant in Garner on the evening of February 18 to celebrate the South Raleigh Civitan Club’s 58th Anniversary. Special guests included past international presidents, Joe Parker and Horace Davis who each offered words of praise for the club’s many accomplishments over the years. North Carolina District East Governor, Deryl McGuire was the keynote speaker for the evening and challenged SRCC to do even more over the next fifty-eight years. A good time was had by all as good food, fond memories and great fellowship were shared by all.
